Thin Mints

I'm not a fan of anything mint, unless its in a well-made mojito. I don't chew mint gum, I don't like altoids or certs. I stay away from Halls cough drops because it has that menthol that tastes like mint. You picking up what I'm putting down?
It's one of my favorite times of the year: Girl Scout cookie time. FYI, my favorites are shortbread and the chocolate covered peanut butter cookie. I may branch out to something lemon flavored, if the mood hits. Never coconut. Anyway, I did not invest in cookies this year, but thankfully, someone(s) has been casually putting out some cookies in the "cafeteria" area of my job. Yesterday, I sampled the cookie that has the caramel drizzled on it, and I think a peanut butter cookie. Today, however, someone put out Thin Mints. From what I hear, this is the holy grail of GS cookies. I have absolutely avoided them because they are still mints, regardless of how much chocolatey goodness you enrobe them in. And, yeah, they are quite thin. Anyhoo, because it is basically a chocolate covered cookie, left out in the open, I tried one.
Oh.
That is a decent cookie.
It would have been better if it the mint was 86ed, but the mint isn't overpowering like one of those Andes mints they leave on your pillow at hotels. And its so crispy and wafery in your mouth. So I grabbed 3 more and left the room to come blog about it. Just try it if you haven't. Try half of one, like all the skinny girls who just *can't* eat a whole cookie/donut/bagel/(insert baked good or dessert here).
